Maybelline Colour Tattoos: £4.99 from Superdrug and Boots

I've always been a bit undecided about these Colour Tattoos by Maybelline, on more than one occasion I've stood in Superdrug with one in my hand and ended up putting it back.  Although I'm a firm believer in the fact that you can never have too much makeup, it seemed a bit pointless buying something I was never going to use; usually I can justify buying repeats of things I really don't need if they perform a certain function (like being travel friendly) but these bulky little pots aren't even that. But as soon as I laid eyes on Metallic Pomegranate I had to have it, it's the perfect 'neutral with a twist' shade I've been obsessed with lately and is the epitome of an autumn eyeshadow colour.

The texture is gorgeous, smooth and blendable and despite being quite glittery it doesn't feel rough or gritty in the slightest. As with most cream products the pigmentation is way up there, you need such a small amount to cover your lid. I can see this being one of those never ending products that you just can't make a dent in no matter how often you use it; the staying power is unbelievable too, once this sets on the skin it's not going anywhere until you remove your makeup. Even after washing off the swatch from the picture above, most of it was still on my arm up until I got a bath that night- I had a couple of people asking if I'd burned myself. Speaking of the obvious the colour is incredible, a dark bronze with burgundy undertones and gold shimmer- errmm yes please! I'm definitely not a fan of brightly coloured eyeshadow. I've been loving this as a base for Mac's Cranberry eyeshadow, another new favourite in a similar kind of neutral/ burgundy shade.

I can definitely see Metallic Pomegranate being a staple product in my everyday makeup routine over the autumn and winter; I highly recommend if like me you want something different without being- well, you know, different.
