MUA single eyeshadows: £1 each from Superdrug and Makeup Academy
I've been really impressed with this sparkly little offering by MUA, while there's only so much you can say about a £1 single eyeshadow I thought it deserved a mention!
Normally I stick to eyeshadow palettes rather than use single shadows just because they're more convenient, but I swatched this on the off-chance in Superdrug and immediately fell in love. You can see from the swatches the level of pigmentation, it's really soft and the quality is on par with much more expensive brands. I prefer this to the gold in my Benefit 'Big Beautiful Eyes' palette, and although the texture isn't quite as nice I prefer the vibrancy of the MUA one. Golds are always my first choice with eyeshadow, they're nicer than your average browns and make a neutral smokey eye look extra special. I expected loads of glittery fallout when applying this, but it wasn't bad at all and didn't notice annoying sparkles all over my cheeks after putting it on. I'm not sure if the palettes are formulated differently to the mono shadows, and I haven't tried enough of the singles to be able to say for sure but the pigmentation of this is definitely better than the golds of my Heaven and Earth palette.
I know single shadows can be a bit of a pain as it means you have to rummage around for crease and highlight colours to complete an eye look, but if you're looking for a compact little eyeshadow that packs a punch this is definitely one to look at!
