MUA Lipstick: Swatches and Review

I'm completely obsessed with these bargain lipsticks by MUA, can you believe they're just £1 each? In varying shades of pink, plum, coral and nude they're a great addition to any makeup collection whether you're just starting out with makeup, or already own a rainbow of lip products. There's something for every taste and season, you're bound to find at least a couple you like from this collection.

The lipsticks are soft and glide well onto the lips without tugging, the finish is quite glossy without being sticky making them really comfortable to wear. They don't last especially long on the lips but aren't drying in the slightest so can easily be reapplied throughout the day. Although the packaging does feel a bit plasticy and cheap if you compare them to more expensive lipsticks, they still look quite nice- I'd be happy to whip one out of my makeup bag when I'm out and about. There's a common misconception that the colour in the lid is a lip primer, but according to MUA it's just to show the colour and shouldn't actually be used on the lips (it might explain why some of the clear plastic bases are so hard to get off!) Everyone and his dog complains about MUA giving their products numbers instead of names and I agree that it's a pain, although most of their newer product releases are complete with cute names which is so much nicer.

Overall I think these well exceed the expectations of a £1 product. I have plenty of much more expensive lipsticks in my collection that I like less than these, the quality is fantastic and are well worth the pound spent. Next time I'm in Superdrug I plan on picking up the rest of the colours in this range, and think they'll be great additions to my lipstick collection.
