Spring NOTD: Pastel Blue

Despite the fact that it's been absolutely freezing for most of this week, you can really tell the spring has arrived today. Finally, a bit of sunshine! It doesn't feel like five minutes ago that I was writing about the start of spring last year, but now here I am now in a new house in a new city. So much has changed since then it's insane to think about, so much so that it actually feels a bit weird revisiting all of my old spring favourite beauty products. While I was unpacking I discovered loads of forgotten gems from last year, including a load of really pretty pastel nail polishes and this one by Revlon caught my eye. Blue isn't a shade I go for a great deal when it comes to nail polish, but with the sun shining and a name like Blue Lagoon it's an easy one for getting in the spring/summer spirit!

It's been ages since I've worn this so wasn't sure what state it would be when I opened it up, but it's actually lasted amazingly well which I think is a real testament to the quality of the formula. Blue Lagoon contains the teeniest tiniest flecks of blue microshimmer, it's not glittery or shimmery at a glance but just gives it a really nice finish. This took two coats until it was fully opaque, which is what I expected since lighter shades like this do tend to be on the sheerer side.

At full price these Nail Enamels by Revlon are around £7 although you can often snag some of the older collections (this was from the 2011 Les Romantics collection) from discounted cosmetics shops like Fragrance Direct, eBay and even Poundland which is such a bargain and well worth picking up when you spot them. I own quite a few of these and in general they perform extremely well and last well on the nails. I'm well aware that blue nail polish is probably never going to be the most flattering shade for me, but it makes a nice change and is so perfect for over the warmer months.

Whats your favourite blue nail polish?
